The most secluded of the cabins in the Lakemont Community, it sits on the edge of the property near the trail head to the creek and hiking path; there are no close neighbors. From the living room you can see the lower lake, and from the kitchen and sunroom you can see for miles. You feel like you are on a cloud looking down on creation. A great place to relax, have a hot beverage, rock in the rocking chair and let all your cares fly away. Heavenly.
Cloud 9 describes the view from the Carolina Room in this cottage. It looks out over the treetops in the gorge with a beautiful mountain view. You can watch the sunrise from the rocker or gaze out over the 'smokey' mountains. If you spend a lot of time looking at a computer screen, your eyes will love the chance to truly relax.
Dine in the Carolina Room overlooking the gorge or at the kitchen table looking at the lower lake. Kick back in the living room and watch the 55 inch Samsung smart TV or the ducks in the lower lake. This one bedroom one bath is perfect for couples. Plenty of room to share in the King size bed. Barbecue on the open deck just outside the Carolina Room (charcoal BBQ available on request, limited supply). Stroll around the lakes and stop for a swing in the picnic area. Go for a hike on one of the two trailheads that are next to this cottage.
There is something for everyone here, whatever your speed... fishing, hiking, reading in the gazebo, watching the wildlife (we have lots of birds, squirrels, several ducks, chipmunks, wild rabbits and more), paddling in the ponds, building a fire in the fire circle or barbecue next to the lake. We are conveniently located close to some fun attractions. We are not far from the Green River and one of the top zip lines in the country. The North Carolina Playhouse, the Carl Sandburg House, and historic Flat Rock are all within easy reach. Take a short car ride to check out Jump of Rock, a scenic overlook with a panoramic view at over 3,000 ft elevation; if you have limited mobility you can still enjoy this spot.
Our location is conveniently located close to Hendersonville (10 min), Saluda (10 min), Historic Flat Rock (11 min), Biltmore Estate (35 min) and South Asheville (25 min) - We have Interstate access only a few blocks from our location while we are also surrounded by woods and natural game lands. You can hike to the Green River through the game lands. The natural beauty of this location is calming, refreshing, and relaxing. Join us for your next getaway!
